Employer: Sorrisniva AS Position title: Ice Hotel Employee
Employment type: Full-time project / Full-time seasonal
Period: Full-time project position during the construction period from November 17 to December 20, or alternatively a full-time seasonal contract from November 17 to March 31, 2026.
Workplace: Alta – Sorrisniva, Finnmark
Come work with us during our busiest season – the Arctic winter season – and help build this year’s Ice Hotel! You will be part of a dedicated team creating memorable experiences for guests from all over the world. Sorrisniva AS is a year-round experience company located on the banks of the Alta River, just outside Alta town center. The company is built on local traditions and values. Our Arctic Wilderness Lodge is open year-round, with 24 suites and the Maku restaurant.
Every November we build our Ice Hotel. This winter marks the 26th Ice Hotel here at Sorrisniva. We are currently looking for employees to join our experienced builders in constructing the Ice Hotel, and others to join our skilled artists in decorating the interior with ice and snow art.
Experience in Ice Hotel construction is rare, so we are looking for applicants with experience or education in construction or craftsmanship. For decoration work in ice and snow, experience with these materials is an advantage, but not required. If you are creative and enjoy working with design and art, we also welcome your application! You should be eager to learn new things and enjoy working as part of a team.
The construction period is short and busy, so we are looking for a flexible person with good collaboration skills. You will be part of our construction team of around 20 people. Our team is a great mix of people with varied skills and experience – some have been with us all 25 years, others for shorter periods. All work takes place outdoors and involves a lot of physical activity.
After the Ice Hotel construction is complete, we will need a maintenance worker to work full-time throughout the winter season.
