Igloo Hotel Chapel Ceremony

During winter we offer the Lutheran wedding ceremony as well as a civil ceremony. The Ice Chapel is in the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel, approximately 20 km from Alta airport. The Ice Chapel is constructed every year from ice and snow and is designed and decorated with a special art theme chosen each year. The ice-chapel is approved by the Bishop of Nord-Hålogaland, and the local parish performs the marriages and christenings. The couple must arrive in Alta no later than the day before the wedding so that the pastor can meet them. Additionally, a rehearsal can be arranged in the Ice Chapel to ensure everything runs smoothly on your special day.

The Ice Chapel is seamlessly integrated into the heart of the Igloo Hotel, yet it remains a distinct and separate space. This intimate room boasts unique acoustics and, like the rest of the hotel, is decorated with stunning ice sculptures. Available for weddings from late December to early April each year, the Ice Chapel provides a magical setting for your ceremony. For the most enchanting experience, we recommend scheduling your wedding in the afternoons or evenings after 4 pm, when the hotel is quieter, and the light is most special.

Wedding Dinner

Enhance your wedding experience with a memorable dinner and celebration at our renowned Lavvu Restaurant, comfortably seating up to 125 guests. Our chefs will create a gourmet dinner tailored to your preferences, designed in consultation with you. Additionally, we can organize pre- and post-dinner celebrations, including dancing, according to your wishes.

Accommodation

The Arctic Wilderness Lodge is open year-round and can accommodate up to 50 guests in its 24 rooms. During the winter, guests also have the unique option to stay at the Igloo Hotel. For a truly memorable experience, the bride and groom might choose to spend a night in the special suite at the Igloo Hotel while also reserving a suite at the lodge. This allows you to enjoy the distinctive charm of the Igloo Hotel along with the comfort and amenities of the lodge.
